It was with complete anger and utter disgust I read the Cairns Post this morning, there on the front page a heart breaking, and completely unbelievable story surrounding a client and friend of ours, Steve and Sharon Doble, Owners of the Daintree River Train. “Whoever is responsible for this shit needs to be bought to justice. There are people in the Daintree who know something and for them to hold this secret is worse than the persons who are responsible.
Show your faces you coward fuckheads, trust that through the power of the internet the entire world is now watching you…its only a matter of time. I speak on behalf of my entire staff and team.”
This behavior is exactly why i left Cairns with my family. It breaks my heart to see that things obviously haven’t changed in 5 years. These poor people – how are they expected to move on after such a terrible accident with the obvious lack of community support.
Come on people – get over yourselves!!! Surely there has to be something more constructive you could do with your lives.
To the family, I just want to say ‘I have no words and only hope that you will find the strength to keep going’.
I thought that the Daintree was a community which cared for its own. Someone knows something and yet does not have the guts to say anything (even anonymously). If you dont want to part of a vibrant caring community – just move out. The area will be better without you
To the Dobles – know that people DO care. No one can ever take away the memories of Jeremy.
There comes a time in everyone’s lives when you have to make a choice. Do I choose to do the right thing or I do choose to hide in the night. For whatever reason these people choose to do what they are doing no one will ever know, they probably do not know themselves. Karma will deal with them in its’ own time. If there is someone out there who does know something and is having this fight within themselves if they should say something or not, choose to do the right thing so when you look in the mirror you like the person who is staring back at you.
To the Dobles – for whatever reason you are being asked to bear the events that have occurred, again no one will ever know, but from each experience you will grow in wisdom and compassion and strength. May the karmic path now be repaid and your world be filled with people with the same qualities as yourselves, wisdom, compassion and strength.
